Panasonic Broadcast reinforced its leadership in solid-state high definition video production with another doubling of card memory capacity, and new key additions to its line of P2 HD solid-state products. Foremost among these announcements is the long anticipated introduction of two new advanced P2 HD VariCam camcorders. The fully solid-state VariCam 3700 and VariCam 2700 (model AJ-HPX2700), represent a synergistic pairing of Panasonic"s popular solid-state recording technology and unique VariCam features and capabilities. Sony TVs to offer in-built Blu-ray player

New Blu-ray enabled HD LCD TV and 'IT devices' on the way Sony is set to offer HD LCD TVs with built-in Blu-ray disc players soon, according to Sony president and Electronics CEO Ryoji Chubachi. Speaking at a press conference in Taipei, Chubachi confirmed that Sony is to provide Blu-ray disc devices in a wider range of product lines in the near future. The aim is to increase the company's global market share of Blu-ray products from its current 20 per cent to a market-owning 50 per cent by the end of 2008. Over-reliance on PS3 The Sony boss discussed "integrating an HD LCD TV with BD recording functionality" and extending the focus to BD Drives in "IT devices" (such as Vaio laptops).

Dish Network History

EchoStar Communications Corporation, the parent company of DISH Network was formed back in 1980 by CEO and Chairman Charles W. Ergen originally to distribute Television systems. EchoStar is a public company with over 21, 000 employees and is headquartered in Englewood, Colorado. On December 28, 1995 EchoStar successfully launched its first satellite, EchoStar I. The successful launch of EchoStar I came after several failed launch attempts. That same year, EchoStar established the DISH Network brand name to market its home satellite TV system. With Blue Ray technology winning the battle as the preferred supplier of HD DVD's we can now enter a stable area of technology for a while and consider moving our whole viewing experience to HD across the board. HD TV means for us a better picture with incredible detail and very vivid true to life colors. There are always new things to get used to like understanding 1080i and 1080p, the difference is 1080i has five times the amount of pixels as a standard definition TV. The 1080p is however the best picture you can currently get - the picture detail is updated twice as fast as a 1080i. HDTV 1080p generates the best smoothest image and flicker free image. This is definitely one of the items to look for when buying an HDTV system especially if you are expecting to go and get a TV larger than 40 inches.

The Digital Ultimatum - Will You have to Buy an HDTV in 2009?

In February 2009, there's going to be a small revolution in the way we watch TV in America. The FCC, a government agency which controls TV broadcast standards, is going to require all over-the-air broadcasts to be in a digital format, rather than analog. This change won't affect most people, but anyone who is still using an "analog only" TV set with its trusty rabbit-ears antenna will be forced to upgrade their gear. The reason it's sort of a big deal has to do with compatibility. In the very beginning of TV broadcasting, everything was broadcast in black and white, which was no problem since every TV was a black-and-white TV. Then in 1953, the FCC adopted a set of standards detailing how color TV would be broadcast, and how color TV sets would work.
